Balance is important for health.
Healthy things grow. In our physical bodies, if a system or systems (i.e., digestive, circulatory, respiratory, etc.) fall outside their normal parameters of health, our bodies fall into "dis-ease." In the same way, we must seek to maintain a healthy balance of five biblical purposes for spiritual health: worship, evangelism, fellowship, discipleship, and ministry. These five purposes flow out of Jesus' Great Commandment (Mark 12:30-31) and Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). We also see these purposes at work in the life of the early church in Acts 2:41-47. When we are able to balance these five purposes, then we grow spiritually healthy and multiply as Jesus intended for His followers.
Download and complete the above spiritual health assessment to see how balanced you are in these five purposes. You will be able to identify purposes in which you are strong and those in which you are not so strong. Then, begin writing your own spiritual health plan (included with the health assessment) to move you back into balance. Having a spiritual partner to hold you accountable to your plan is strongly encouraged. If you don't have a spiritual partner of the same gender, explore building relationships in one of our CPR groups to find one.
