Getting to Know
What is the hobby or sport that you are pretty good at? If you were able to be good at something 3 out of 10 times, would you consider that success?
Getting Into
Read Ephesians 2
Do you think sin is best described as missing the mark or crossing the line?
What is the real truth about every human being? (vv. 1-3)
John 14:6 assumes that spiritual death is:
If God did not save us because of some merit in us, why did he save us?
What purpose was in God’s mind when He saved us?
What did God actually do when He saved us? (vv. 4-10)
What reaction should we have once we understand we’ve been saved by grace?
Read vv. 11-22
Gentile and Jew together in Christ form the church. What are the different images Paul uses to describe the church?
Going Deeper
The two dominant aspects of the ways of the world are ignorance of the true God and corruption of life. The entire Bible witnesses to the partnership of these two. Read Romans 1:18-32. Write a paragraph notating how suppression of the knowledge of God results in a corrupt lifestyle according to this passage.
Before their salvation in Christ, what was the identity and status of the Jews? At the deepest spiritual level, were they, in themselves, any different from the Gentiles? Study and write down your thoughts from the following verses: John 8:39-47; Romans 2:17-29; 3:9-24; Galatians 2:14-16; Philippians 3:1-9
